Nourish Your Brain

Nourish the brain

Memory loss and poor concentration are usually due to an insufficient of essential nutrients to the brain. Nutritional deprivation in essential starves the brain and is a major factor in deterioration of brain power.
A deficiency in essential fatty acids(EFAs) causes memory loss and other learning problems. Thus, increasing your arachidonic acid (AA), docosahexaeoic acid (DHA) and gamma linolenic acid (GLA) intake is beneficial in boosting your brain power.
Many researchers are increasingly recognising the possibility that DHA has a crucial influence on neurotransmitters in the brain, helping brain cells to better communicate with each other. On the other hand, AA is needed for the development of short-term memory.
Besides Efas, proteins are also essential to improve mental performance, as they are required for the production of neurotransmitters that affects mood, thought and action. Protein provides the building block for nerves and brain. Spirulina contains 65-71 per cent complete protein, with all essential amino acids in perfect balance. Proteins are found in fish, meat, milk and cheese.
You need to get out and exercise too, not get stuck in your books all the times. Do not work in or on your bed-keep your bed for relaxation and sleep. Start to relax yourself at least an hour before you intend to sleep and spend time doing something more relaxing.
For Muslims students do not forget to recite the Holy Quran at least 10 verses before going to sleep and perform your ablution.
